1. Eyepieces
- 10x magnification eyepieces used to view specimen.
2. Light Path
Selection Slide - Slides in three positions to deflect light to camera
and eyepieces.
3. Collector
Lens Focusing Knob - focuses the light being transmitted from the fluorescence
illuminator.
4.
Field and Aperture Iris Diaphragms - changes the light entering the lens
from the fluorescent illuminator.
5.
Allen Screwdriver - use this tool to make necessary adjustments to the scope.
DO NOT make adjustments without permission from a faculty member.

Power Switch - used to turn on/off the brightfield microscope light. ON=|
OFF=0
7.
Coarse/Fine Adjustment Knob - used to focus the view of the specimen. Use
the outside knob for coarse focus and the inner knob for fine adjustment.
8.
Mercury Burner Power Switch - used to turn on/off the fluorescent illuminator.
ON=| OFF=O
9. X Axis
Knob - used to move slide left and right on the stage.
10. Y Axis
Knob - used to move slide forward and backward on the stage.
11.
Brightness Knob - used increase/decrease the voltage and make the brightfield
illumination brighter.
12.
Field Iris Diaphragm - controls the amount of light entering the field of
view.
13.
Brightfield Light - a 45mm filter can be placed here to restrict what light
is transmitted.
14.
Aperture Iris Diaphragm Ring - used to adjust diameter of light entering
objective lens.
16.
Revolving Nosepiece - rotates to change objective lens, which changes the
magnification.
15.
Objective Lenses - used to magnify image for viewing.
17.
Shutter - used to interrupt light from fluorescent illuminator.
18.
Mirror Unit Turret - selects brightfield, darkfield or fluorescent filter
pac to use.
