MICROSTRUCTURE OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS

Sem has found a renewed life in the study of genetics. Advances in molecular biology have allowed scientists to manipulate the genes of fruit flies and other organisms. SEM has been used to examine the phenotypic result of some gene manipulations. For instance, eyeless mutants are missing the structures seen below.
